Halcyon’s Unsound Festival Mixtape
Halcyon has posted a mixtape for the upcoming Unsound Music Festival that is pretty worthwhile. You can check out the mixtape here. It’s got great tracks from Carl Craig, Groupshow (playing a free show at LPR on Feb.6), Ezekiel Honig, Jacaszek (Feb. 11 at LPR…) and a bunch of others.

Haiti benefit concert @ LPR
…Earlier this week, a group of amazing musicians came together to play a Haiti benefit concert at LPR. The event was organized by Groove Collective and featured performances from Bernie Worrell , Dr. Lonnie Smith , Roy Hargrove , Vijay Iyer , Lionel Loueke & Richard Bona , Yatande Bwakaiman Vodou Drums and Swiss Chris.
Laura Marling (playing LPR on Feb. 12) has just debuted a video for her track “Devil Spoke.” If you like what you hear The Music Slut… is giving away a pair of tickets and has a link for a free download of her track “New Romantic.”
